FAQs
Do I have to go to every event the Jaycees plan?

No. We realize everyone has busy schedules.  There is no minimum number of hours required. You get out what you put in.

How much does it cost to join?

Membership dues are $50 a year. The dues pay for Illinois and National dues. This gives access to national resources and the branding that people know and trust.

How often do you meet?

Our membership meetings are once a month. Check out our calendar for details. Attendance at the meetings is not mandatory, but always encouraged. There are plenty of other events throughout the month that you can attend as well.

What are the Jaycees?

The Jaycees are a young person’s leadership and service organization. We seek to empower young people by giving them the skills and tools to make a positive changes professionally, personally, and in the community. The Peoria Jaycees is one part of a larger network of chapters in the state of Illinois and throughout the US.

What opportunities do the Jaycees provide?

The Jaycees provide many opportunities to enhance yourself and use what you learn to help the community. Opportunities range in size and scope, but are tailored to what you want to learn. If you want to improve your leadership skills, there’s opportunities to chair an entire project, or take ownership of one part of a project. There are skill based opportunities such as managing a budget, making and developing crucial contacts in the community, and organizing a team towards a common goal. It’s also an opportunity to learn more specific skills such as: being a savvy investor, learning yoga, painting, buying a house, or playing the guitar to name a few. In short is a great way to try new things and learn new things.
